The meeting particularly focused on preparations for an Egyptian-Lebanese committee that is scheduled to convene soon.

Mashaat also posted Madbouli on how joint projects with Iraq are progressing.

The depollution of Kitchener Drain also figured high in the meeting, with Mashaat stressing that the project is meant to collect and treat domestic wastewater, manage solid waste and rehabilitate the drain’s infrastructure. She made it clear that this project should result in environmental, economic and health benefits for 180 villages in the Delta cities of Kafr el Sheikh, Gharbiya and Daqahliya.

Mashaat and Madbouli also discussed proposed fields of cooperation with international development partners, especially where “Decent Life” projects are concerned.

Cooperation with international parties is needed particularly in desalination operations, Mashaat told the premier.

She also assured him that her Ministry is working with the Health Ministry and coordinating action with international parties to secure Covid-19 vaccines.

The meeting also took up preparations for Egypt to take part in the 25th edition of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which is slated for June 2022. (
