CAIRO – 24 December 2021: Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy stated that the total capacity generated from new and renewable energy (including solar and wind) on the national grid will reach 10,000 megawatts by the year 2023.

He added that the capacities currently generated from renewables amount to 6,000 megawatts.

Shaker further said that it is planned that the share of renewable energy will reach more than 42 percent by the year 2035, and that studies are currently being conducted to increase this percentage.
