A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the Egyptian National Railway Authority and Austria's Voestalpine to increase the production of the Abbasia workshop.

Another MoU was signed between the Wardan Institute for training and Elsewedy Electric and Germany's Deutsche Bahn on setting up vocational training centers.

A third MoU was inked between the railway authority and DB Engineering & Consulting of Germany to present technical consultative services that contribute to increasing the authority’s ability to advance the levels of operation and maintenance.

The minister attended the signing of a trilateral cooperation protocol among the national railway authority, Trans IT, and Revenga Smart Solutions of Spain to develop the railway stations with electronic gates and systems.
