EGX ends Monday on mixed note, market cap. gains LE2.22B

CAIRO – 8 November 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed mixed performance during Monday’s session, adding around LE 2.22 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.

  

The benchmark EGX30 decreased 0.50 percent, or 58.07 points, to end at 11,497.51 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 1.09 percent, or 22.15 points, to end at 2,060.26 points, and the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 2.09 percent, or 45.25 points, to close at 2,209.22 points.


The broader index EGX100 ascended 1.47 percent, or 46.39 points, to close at 3,195.46 points.
 

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 2.22 billion, recording LE 735.57 billion, compared to LE 733.35 billion in Sunday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 234.96 million shares, traded through 30,176 transactions, with a turnover of LE 674.28 million.

 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 42.94 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 15.76 million, and LE 27.18 million, respectively.

 

Egyptian and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 22.47 million, and LE 1.05 million, respectively, while Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 24.09 million.

 

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 38.24 million, and LE 3.08 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 41.88 million.

 

El Arabia Engineering Industries, El Shams Housing & Urbanization, and Misr National Steel – Ataqa were top gainers of the session at 13.74 percent, 12.73 percent and 11.85 percent, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, Egyptian Transport (EGYTRANS), Alexandria Mineral Oils Company, and Nasr Company for Civil Works were top losers of the session by 6.99 percent, 6.44 percent, and 2.67 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ended Sunday on mixed note, as: EGX30 decreased 0.49 percent, EGX 50 inched down 0.01 percent, and EGX 70 inclined 0.04 percent, while EGX100 rose 0.10 percent.
