CAIRO- 10 July 2017: Minister of Transport Hisham Arafat will sign on Tuesday the memorandum of understanding (MOU) of the sixth metro line that will be designed by a Canadian company.
The signing ceremony will be held at the Transport Ministry premises on Tuesday with the participation of officials from the Egyptian Company For Metro Management and Operation, the National Authority for Tunnels and representatives of the Canadian company.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Transportation, the sixth metro line will cost $US 3.5 billion and it will be constructed in parallel with the first metro line to ease heavy traffic.
Egypt is still in the process of constructing the third metro line, which is set to be completed by 2020, and has not yet begun construction of the fourth and fifth lines
