EGX starts week in semi-collective regression, market cap. loses LE 1.86B

CAIRO – 7 November 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session in a semi-collective regression, losing around LE 1.86 billion of market capitalization, amid Egyptian selling.

  

The benchmark EGX30 decreased 0.49 percent, or 57.26 points, to end at 11,555.58 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 inched down 0.01 percent, or 0.27 points, to end at 2,038.11 points, and the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 inclined 0.04 percent, or 0.76 points, to close at 2,163.97 points.


On the other hand, the broader index EGX100 rose 0.10 percent, or 3.04 points, to close at 3,149.07 points.
 

 

Market capitalization lost around LE 1.86 billion, recording LE 733.35 billion, compared to LE 735.21 billion in Thursday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 173.37 million shares, traded through 20,585 transactions, with a turnover of LE 382.61 million.

 

Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 25.14 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 2.95 million, and LE 22.19 million, respectively.

 

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 19.1 million, LE 4.13 million, and LE 689,715, respectively.

 

Arab and foreign organizations bought at LE 7.08 million, and LE 22.88 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations sold at LE 6.04 million.

 

International Co for Investment & Development, Tenth of Ramadan Pharmaceutical Industries & Diagnostic-Rameda, and Iron and Steel for Mines and Quarries were top gainers of the session at 8.83 percent, 5.48 percent and 5.34 percent, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad), Egyptian Real Estate Group, and El Obour Real Estate Investment were top losers of the session by 20 percent, 19.78 percent, and 19.39 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ended Thursday in red, as: EGX30 decreased 0.62 percent, EGX 50 declined 1.44 percent, EGX 70 inclined 2.67 percent, and EGX100 dipped 1.98 percent.
