EGX loses about LE7.84B of market cap. during Wednesday's session

CAIRO – 3 November 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a semi-collective regression during Wednesday session, losing around LE 7.84 billion of market capitalization, amid foreign organizations selling.

  

The benchmark EGX30 inched up 0.07 percent, or 8.74 points, to end at 11,685.12 points.

 

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX 50 declined 3.21 percent, or 68.49 points, to end at 2,068.06 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 inclined 3.79 percent, or 87.65 points, to close at 2,224.03 points, and the broader index EGX100 dipped 2.95 percent, or 97.71 points, to close at 3,209.54 points.
 

 

Market capitalization lost around LE 7.84 billion, recording LE 742.83 billion, compared to LE 750.66 billion in Tuesday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 547.37 million shares, traded through 46,127 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.36 billion.

 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 72.45 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 65.85 million, and LE 6.59 million, respectively.

 

Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 14.54 million, and LE 387,833, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net sellers at LE 191.94 million.

 

Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 7.95 million, and LE 72.84 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought at LE 257.79 million.

 

El Nasr Clothes & Textiles (Kabo), Arabian Cement Company, and Obour Land for Food Industries were top gainers of the session at 4.61 percent, 3.75 percent and 3.37 percent, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, Zahraa Maadi Investment & Development, Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad), and Sharm Dreams Co. for Tourism Investment were top losers of the session by 20 percent, 19.98 percent, and 19.95 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ended Tuesday on mixed note as: EGX30 hiked 0.93 percent, EGX 50 rose 0.29 percent, and EGX100 inched up 0.06 percent, while EGX 70 inclined 0.21 percent.
