CAIRO – 2 October 2021: Ambassador of Egypt to Lebanon, Dr. Yasser Elwi, met Saturday with a number of members of the Lebanese government, to discuss ways to support and develop economic bilateral relations between Egypt and Lebanon.

The meeting was attended by the Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister, HE Al-Shami, the Minister of Finance, Youssef Al-Khalil, the Minister of Information, George Kordahi, Dr. Abbas Al-Hajj Hassan, the Minister of Agriculture, and the Lebanese Parliament Member, Elie Ferzli.

It also reviewed the latest political and economic developments in Lebanon, according to the official page of the embassy.

During his meeting with Al-Shami and Al-Khalil, the Egyptian ambassador discussed the upcoming negotiations between the Lebanese government and the International Monetary Fund, following the formation of the negotiating committee, whose membership includes: Deputy Prime Minister His Excellency Al-Shami, Minister of Finance Youssef Al-Khalil, Minister of Economy and Trade Amin Salam and Governor of the Banque du Liban Riad Salameh.

During his previous meeting with the Minister of Information, they discussed the latest political developments and areas of cooperation between the two countries in the field of media, and followed up on ensuring the continuation of the broadcast of Lebanon TV on the Nilesat satellite.

During his meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, cooperation between Egypt and Lebanon was discussed, and the arrangement for the convening of the joint agricultural committee in Cairo during the coming period.
