Egypt’s engineering exports jump 54% in June 2021

CAIRO - 1 August 2021: The Egyptian engineering exports hiked 54 percent in June 2021, recording $282 million, compared to $180 million in the same month in 2020, according to a press statement released by the Engineering Exports Council on Sunday.

 

It stated that the engineering exports rose in the first half of the 2021 by 54 percent, reaching $1.462 billion compared to $950 million during the same period of the 2020.

 

The exports of the engineering products moreover witnessed an increase in the fiscal year 2020/2021 by 28 percent, reaching $ 2.802 billion; compared to $ 2.188 billion in the fiscal year of 2019/2020.

 

The top winning engineering sectors whose exports had the lion share are tableware and Cables by 52 percent; Table and Kitchenware by 51 percent; automotive parts by 47 percent; White goods by 47 percent; Brown goods by 2 percent; electrical and electronic industries by 30 percent, and transportation vehicles by 28 percent.

 

Meanwhile the most important countries receiving Egyptian engineering exports are: The United Kingdom; Turkey; France; Germany; Spain, and Greece in Europe while Saudi Arabia; Iraq; Jordan; Kuwait; Hong Kong and Lebanon in Asia and Algeria; Morocco; Sudan; Libya; Kenya; and Tunisia in Africa

 

On another note, Ismail Gaber, Chairman of the General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC), said that engineering industries are the third top sector in the growth rate during the first 4 months of the year.
