EGX ends Wednesday on mixed note, market cap. loses LE 2.69B

CAIRO - 2 June 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday session on mixed note, losing around LE 2.69 billion of market capitalization, amid Arab and foreign selling.

 

The benchmark EGX30 declined 1.16 percent, or 119.26 points, to end at 10,120.95 points.

 

 

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.66 percent, or 14.49 points, to end at 2,200.26 points.

 

 

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 1.55 percent, or 35.63 points, to close at 2,330.87 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 0.84 percent, or 27.06 points, to close at 3,251.93 points.

 

 

Market capitalization lost around LE 2.69 billion, recording LE 651.16 billion, compared to LE 653.85 billion in Tuesday’s session.

 

 

The trading volume reached 646.86 million shares, traded through 61,972 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.71 billion.

 

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 59.93 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 14.66 million, and LE 45.27 million, respectively.

 

Egyptian, and  foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 16.16 million, and LE 40,301, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers LE 16.87 million.

 

Egyptian, and Arab organizations bought at LE 43.77 million, and LE 2.22 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 45.31 million.

 

Sharm Dreams Co. for Tourism Investment, AJWA for Food Industries Company Egypt, and El Wadi for International and Investement Development were top gainers of the session at 16.36 percent, 14.46 percent and 13.24 percent, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing, Misr Duty Free Shops, and Nasr Company for Civil Works were top losers of the session by 8.74 percent, 7.66 percent, and 5.60 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ended Tuesday on mixed note, as: EGX30 inched down 0.67 percent, and EGX 50 declined 0.31 percent, while EGX 70 jumped 0.74 percent, while EGX 50 decreased 0.28 percent.
