EGX end Tuesday in green, market cap. gains LE 8.04B

CAIRO - 18 May 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s session in green, adding around LE 8.04 million to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 1 percent, or 106.23 points, to end at 10,780.9 points.

 

 The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 2.44 percent, or 51.97 points, to end at 2,182.51 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 climbed 2.08 percent, or 45.46 points, to close at 2,230.59 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 2.04 percent, or 63.67 points, to close at 3,187.02 points.

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 8.04 billion, recording LE 679.67 billion, compared to LE 671.62 billion in Monday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 730.25 million shares, traded through 59,622 transactions, with a turnover of LE 2.08 billion.

 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 290.77 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 158.55 million, and LE 132.22 million, respectively.

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 52.81 million, and LE 112.93 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 7.27 million.

 

 

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 105.74 million, and LE 19.28 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 283.5 million.

 

 

North Cairo Mills, Ismailia National Food Industries, and El Obour Real Estate Investment were top gainers of the session at 9.99 percent, 9.82 percent and 9.57 percent, respectively.

 

 

Meanwhile, Alexandria New Medical Center, Minapharm Pharmaceuticals, and Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co. were top losers of the session by 7.68 percent, 3.80 percent, and 3.76 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ends Monday on mixed note, as: EGX30 dipped 0.87 percent, while EGX 50 hiked 1.03 percent, EGX 70 climbed 1.07 percent, and EGX 100 jumped 0.86 percent.

 

Egypt’s banks and bourse were off from Wednesday, May 12, till Sunday, May 16. These holidays come in celebration of Eid Al-Fitr.
