CAIRO – 21 April 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s session in green, adding around LE 2.06 billion to market capitalization, amid Arab and foreign purchases.

 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.21 percent, or 22.44 points, to end at 10,642.49 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 0.25 percent, or 5.13 points, to end at 2,021.47 points.

 

Moreover, the small and mid-cap index EGX 70 increased 0.63 percent, or 12.38 points, to close at 1,970.77 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 0.36 percent, or 10.43 points, to close at 2,898.41 points.

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 2.06 billion, recording LE 654.22 billion, compared to LE 652.16 billion in Tuesday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 478.59 million shares, traded through 38,886 transactions, with a turnover of LE 906.52 million.

 

Egyptian investors were net sellers at LE 19.23 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 4.26 million, and LE 14.97 million, respectively.

Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 8.02 million, and LE 632,652, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net sellers at LE 9.43 million.

 

Egyptian and Arab organizations sold at LE 9.8 million, and LE 3.76 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought at LE 14.34 million.

 

General Company for Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction, Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad), and Ismailia Misr Pourtly were top gainers of the session at 6.28 percent, 6.25 percent and 6.01 percent, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, El Obour Real Estate Investment, GB AUTO, and Palm Hills Development Company were top losers of the session by 9.47 percent, 4.99 percent, and 4.03 percent, respectively.
