In a statement, the minister said all checking measures of the Egyptian oranges at the Japanese ports were successfully carried out and all of them met all Japanese and international standards, pointing out that the Japanese officials hailed the monitoring exporting system of the the Egyptian quarantine.
 

The minister added that the two sides held intensive negotiations in 2019 on the issue then approved a working plan to start exporting Egyptian oranges to the Japanese markets.
 

Head of the Egyptian Plant Quarantine Ahmed El Attar described the opening of Japan's markets for Egyptian agricultural produces as the biggest challenge due to the harsh conditions the Japanese side put for importing such products.
