CAIRO – 2 July 2017: Confirmed news reports have emerged regarding the recent arrival of Hezbollah militia members to Doha in disguise as civilians in order to secure vital Qatari institutions, the British Middle East Center for Studies and Research’s regional bureau chief Amjad Taha told Egypt Today on Sunday.

Amjad stated that the Lebanese Shi’ite organization Hezbollah sent dozens of its fighters in the company of their families to carry out military and security missions in Qatar.

“This information was confirmed by trusted sources from Hezbollah militias and its dissident fighters in Lebanon,” Amjad added.

He referred to the arrival of a civilian airplane to Doha from Isfahan and Shiraz airports in Iran, which were seen to have dozens of militants on board. This news confirmed previous Egyptian reports regarding the participation of Iranian Revolutionary Guards Forces in protecting and securing the Qatari Emir in Doha, Amjad said from his residency in Bahrain.

Egypt and several Arab nations severed diplomatic ties with Qatar on June 5 on charges that the Gulf nation funds terrorist groups in the region and proactively cultivates relations with Iran.
