CAIRO – 13 August 2020: Egypt’s Ambassador to Rome Hisham Badr commended the recent initiatives that resulted from the cultural cooperation between Egyptian local authorities and several Italian provinces.
Badr further hailed initiatives organizing religious pilgrimages to Egypt, stressing that such cultural activities confirm the depth of the deep-rooted historical ties between Egyptian and Italian people.
In statements to Italian news agency (ANSA), Badr praised the recent approval by Viterbo city council to a twinning agreement between Viterbo and Upper Egypt’s Luxor governorate.
The agreement follows another one signed between Catania in Italy and the Mediterranean city of Alexandria in Egypt.
He explained that such cooperation is important to consolidate and strengthen bilateral relations between both countries.
