CAIRO - 29 May 2020: Minister of Justice Omar Marwan said that family and misdemeanor court sessions will be partially resumed nationwide on Saturday.

In statements to MENA chief editor, he added that this measure will continue for two weeks ahead of resuming all court sessions nationwide.

He added that the Ministry of Justice is adopting all precautionary measures in light of the outbreak of the coronavirus in Egypt for resuming all court sessions. These measures include making wearing masks in courts obligatory and reducing the number of litigators in courts.

He noted that courts will not offer any service for those who would violate these measures.

He pointed out that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is keen on enhancing the judicial process in Egypt.

He thanked the president for adopting an initiative to rehabilitate Al Galaa Courts Complex for enhancing judicial services offered to the public.

He pointed out that since he assumed his post as minister of justice he sought to achieve two goals; the first of which is boosting the judicial process in Egypt and the second is offering distinguished judicial services to the public.

He added that in order to achieve these goals he is working to implement a comprehensive plan for increasing the number of judges in courts nationwide and starting a program for training and qualifying them.
