President Sisi greets Arab world leaders on advent of holy month of Ramadan

CAIRO – 24 APRIL 2020: President Abdel Fattah EL Sisi sent his greetings to a number of Arab world leaders on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar when Muslims worldwide fast from dusk to dawn.

In a phone call with Saudi King Salman bin Abdelaziz, President Sisi greeted him on the holy month. The president also wished the Saudi people progress and prosperity.

"In another phone call with Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait, President Sisi extended his greetings to the emir and the Kuwaiti people," said the Egyptian Presidential spokesperson Bassam Radi in a statement on Thursday. Sheikh Al-Sabah expressed his gratitude to the Egyptian people.

Radi added that both leaders discussed the bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual concern.

"Jordanian Monarch Abdullah II and Tunisian President Kais Said showed their gratitude to President Sisi for the latter’s calls to greet them on the advent of the holy month, expressing their greatest wishes to Sisi and the Egyptian people," Radi said in statements.

"Additionally, President Sisi phoned Iraqi President Barham Salih to greet him on the holy month," added Radi in the statement, noting that President Sisi wished the Iraqi people stability and security.

In a phone call with Sudanese Transitional Military Council Chairman Abdel Fatah al-Burhan, the Egyptian president also wished the Sudanese people stability and prosperity.

Egypt’s Dar al-Iftaa announced on Wednesday evening that the holy month of Ramadan will start on Friday, sending greetings to President Sisi and the Egyptians.
