CAIRO – 6 April 2020: Spokesperson of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Ahmed al-Mesmary stated that the Libyan Armed Forces targeted on Sunday 41 mercenaries affiliated with Turkey in Wadi Al Rabie and Al Hadaba districts southern Tripoli as they attempted to infiltrate military sites.

The LNA is currently patrolling Libyan territories to unveil terrorist hideouts. The spokesperson stated that three operating rooms have been formed to combat Turkish intervention and terrorism.

"The Libyan Armed Forces call upon the international community to work on halting the transportation of mercenaries into Libya, and in pushing Turkey to withdraw its forces," Mesmary said in a press conference held Sunday.

Mesmary added that General Commander Khalifa Haftar is giving brain-washed Syrian militants in Libya a chance to leave in peace in condition that they give up their arms and fighting.

Mesmary stated that such mercenaries had attempted to target a jet carrying ventilators and medical equipment. Yet, infantry forces deterred the attack causing losses among their ranks as they fled leaving behind the bodies of their partners.

Mesmary affirmed that the LNA respects the truce and that the enemy embodied in the "Turkish occupation" keeps violating the ceasefire. "Libyans are against terrorism, and want to get rid of terrorism," he added.

On April 2, the LNA declared downing an Aero L-39 Albatros jet that belongs to the GNA killing its pilot, Abdel Naby al-Orraiq, and co-pilot, Ibrahim Farag, southern Abou Grein village eastern Misrata.

On April 1, Mesmary declared that a Turkish battleship struck by missiles LNA-controlled Ogilat City located to the West of Tripoli, which is controlled by the Government of National Accord (GNA), hitting a private farm on the outskirts.

It's noteworthy to mention that Turkey is allied with the GNA, which is an interim non-elected government that is recognized by the United Nations and protected by militias.

A military source told Youm7 that Turkish artillery - based near Al Shater Mosque in Arada neighborhood - strike populated areas in the capital's outskirts controlled by the LNA.

On March 31, the LNA announced the death of a number of Turkish officers and military experts after it had struck radar and missile launching platforms as well as ammunition stores in Misrata.

On March 29, the LNA targeted in Abou Grein five armored vehicles and two tents that belong to the militants, two observatories that contain four armored vehicles and two tents, two buildings that house operating rooms and 13 armored vehicles, and an observatory.

Thereby, the total militants' targets struck by the LNA are 22 armored vehicles, four tents, and two buildings containing operating rooms.

On March 27, the LNA liberated from militias and mercenaries Al Assa, Al Gamil, Riqdalin, and Zelten near the coastal city of GNA-held Zuwara lying western Tripoli. That is after it had repelled the attack launched by the GNA militias against LNA-held Oqba bin Nafea Airbase in Al Watiya area near the capital.

A few days earlier Commander of Sirte Operating Room Salem Deryaq and his assistant Al Qaddafi Al Sadai were killed by a Turkish drone that was launched from Misrata.
