FM: Turkish intervention makes Libya center for terrorists

CAIRO - 3 March 2020: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry said Monday in an interview with the 9 p.m. program on the Egyptian TV that the Turkish interference is turning Libya into a center for terrorist organizations and foreign fighters.

He also added that Egypt and the international community trusted UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salama, to deal with the matter but he did not produce positive results.

The minister explained that the international community put its confidence in the UN envoy to reach a Libyan reconciliation, to reconstruct the Libyan institutions and the Presidential Council in accordance with the outputs of the Skhirat Agreement,eliminate terrorism, preserve the unity of the Libyan lands, and achieve stability.

He pointed out that Egypt is exerting great efforts to reach a suitable solution to the Libyan crisis, to preserve the national security of Libya and the neighboring countries.
