NICOSIA, Dec 31 (MENA) - Cypriot Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides on Tuesday discussed the recent developments in Libya in two phone calls with his Egyptian and Saudi counterparts Sameh Shoukry and Faysal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, respectively.

The top diplomats confirmed in the two phone conversations that there is a need for the European Union to launch an initiative that is aimed at preventing any acts in violation of international law that could lead to more escalation of the Libyan crisis, according to the Cypriot news agency.
