CAIRO – 20 December 2019: The Arab joint work between Saudi Arabia and Egypt is important to all Arabs, in light of the regional interventions in the affairs of Arab countries, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said on Thursday.

Commenting on a message sent from King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia to Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi highlighting special relations between the two countries, Gargash said that the importance of this message, in addition to the Egyptian president’s reply to it, surpasses bilateral relations and highlights the cooperation between the “two axes of joint Arab work,” referring to Egypt and Riyadh.

King Salman’s message was handed to Saudi Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Issam bin Saeed, during his official visit to Cairo.

The message affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to foster cooperation between the two countries in various fields and to continue intensive coordination and joint work in terms of regional and international issues, Egyptian presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said in a statement.

Sisi, for his part, highlighted the brotherly and special relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, affirming that these ties represent a pillar for stability in the Arab region, especially in light of the critical circumstances of many Arab states and the various challenges they face.

The President also expressed Egypt’s willingness to continue developing constructive cooperation and consultation between the two countries in various fields, to help achieve the common interest of both Egyptian and Saudi peoples.

Sisi in June met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the sidelines of the G-20 summit, where he confirmed his keenness on coordinating with Saudi Arabia regarding the recent developments in the Middle East, Radi said separately.

Sisi confirmed that relations between the two countries are strong and that joint cooperation comes within the framework of strategic relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Egyptian Middle East News Agency reported.

The Saudi crown prince expressed appreciation for the Egyptian people and leadership, added the spokesman.
