CAIRO – 15 December 2019: Lebanon's Minister of Defense, Elias Bou Saab, on Sunday, December 15, 2019, thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for inviting Lebanon to participate in the third edition of the World Youth Forum in South Sinai’s Sharm El Sheikh, under the theme: “International Peace and Security: Current Challenges.”

“A greater thank you Mr. President, not for the reception or hospitality, but because of your true and honest interest in the future of young people,” Bou Saab addressed the Egyptian leader during his participation at a session on ways to enhance cooperation between Mediterranean countries.

He further stressed that cooperation between the Mediterranean countries is necessary in all fields and would serve the interest of the youth, “because they are the future of this region and all countries.”

The Lebanese Minister of Defense further added that terrorism has no religion or nationality, and must be dealt with accordingly.

He also warned that IDP camps have resulted in the emergence of terrorists and criminals who are currently involved in drug trade, human trafficking and terrorism.

Bou Saab called upon Mediterranean countries and countries of the world to defeat this phenomenon and find suitable alternatives for displacement camps.

He discussed with the Minister of Defense, General Muhammad Zaki, terrorism and security issues, stressing the need to protect the country from within so that it can protect its society and the displaced as well.
