BAGHDAD - 2 November 2019: Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Mohammed al-Halbousi said that the council will be intensively and continuously working to meet the people's demands without regional and international external pressure.

In a statement on Saturday, al-Halbousi asserted the parliament's full commitment to the road-map, which he described as the country's safety valve. Therefore the council will be in permanent session to speed up the implementation of this road-map.

The council will work so hard on the constitutional amendments in partnership with representatives of the protesters, elites and experts who will help set out steps needed to reach the desired reform, he said.
