Sisi meets Kuwaiti PM, says hope to receive him in Egypt: presidency

CAIRO – 1 September 2019: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah during his official visit to Kuwait which started on Saturday.

The president expressed his hope to receive Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak in Egypt in the coming period, to further develop various aspects of cooperation between the two countries, according to a presidential statement.

During the meeting, Sisi hailed the special relations linking the two countries, expressing the appreciation of Egypt's leadership and people to the state of Kuwait.

The meeting touched on ways of boosting bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the economic field, also increasing mutual investments in development projects in the two countries, as well as enhancing cultural, educational and tourism relations.

Sisi met on Saturday with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah.

The meeting addressed developments of regional issues of mutual concern. The two leaders affirmed in this regard the importance of supporting Arab cooperation during the current stage which poses unprecedented challenges to the Arab nations.

Sheikh Sabah also expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt's role in promoting stability, security and development in the Arab world, as well as its efforts seeking political settlement for the existing crises in the region, in a way that preserves the unity and sovereignty of the countries and safeguards the resources of their peoples.

Sisi also met on Saturday with Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah.

The two sides discussed the development of the close security cooperation between the two countries, in light of their common will to fight terrorism and confront extremist ideology, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.

Sisi was received by Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. They are expected to hold talks focusing on enhancing bilateral relations in a way to serve mutual interests.
