CAIRO, Aug 28 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli expounded in a meeting on Wednesday development plans of El Hussein Mosque in Old Cairo and the surrounding area, saying President Abdel Fatah El Sisi gave directives in this regard.

Madbouli, in a meeting attended by Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Guma, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal and other senior officials, said the move comes as part of a comprehensive plan carried out by the government to develop Old Cairo.

The development plan of the mosque will include its facade, courtyard, interior area, dilapidated walls, wudu' (ablution) area, ceilings in addition to the expansion of the prayers areas.

After development, there will be three prayers areas to increase the number of worshipers to 6,000 men and 1,450 women, said Head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Ihab el Far.

The mosque will be supplied with central air conditioning, modern lighting and fire protection systems, he added.
