CAIRO - 5 August 2019: The Foreign ministers of Egypt, Iraq and Jordan stressed the importance of drying up the sources of terrorist funding during their tripartite meeting held in Baghdad, Iraq on July 4.

The trilateral gathering aims at boosting cooperation at various levels pursuant to the resolutions of the tripartite Egyptian-Jordanian-Iraqi summit, which was held in Cairo on March 24.

They also underscored the need to get rid of pro-terrorism media platforms and support Iraq's efforts to eliminate ISIS remnants for a safe and stable environment that would help displaced people return to their cities, according to the final statement of the meeting.

The statement also reported that the meeting took up means of making use of robust ties between the three Arab nations at the political, economic, cultural and social levels.

Underlining the need for an urgent meeting in Baghdad between the ministers of energy, industry, trade and housing of the three countries, the ministers agreed to organize workshops for investors and business owners in each country on the sidelines of their ministerial meetings.

They also highlighted the need to coordinate their positions at international and regional forums to overcome the challenges facing the Arab world and the entire region.

Moreover, the ministers reviewed the latest developments in Palestine, laying an emphasis on the centrality of the Palestinian cause for the Arab and Muslim worlds.

Furthermore, they asserted the need for further efforts to calm current tensions in the Gulf region through constructive dialogue and establishing regional relations based on the principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in the domestic affairs of other countries. The ministers’ next meeting will be held in Jordan.
