WASHINGTON - 12 July 2019: US President Donald Trump's Middle East Envoy Jason Greenblat said on Friday Iran is the enemy of peace, security and stability in the region.

He raised the alarm over risks posed by Tehran that jeopardize Gulf countries.

"Iran become the main enemy of the region, not the Palestinian-Israeli conflict solely," Greenblat said during an interview with Alhurra news channel.

The envoy called for seizing that timing to reach a settlement for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

As for the White House Middle East peace plan, the envoy voiced trust that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas would appreciate it and eventually seek negotiations in order to put it into effect shortly.
