Egypt always supportive of Iraq: Abdel Aal

CAIRO - 10 July 2019: Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal stressed that Egypt is always supportive of Iraq's efforts to regain its role at the Arab and international levels, underlining Egypt's decisive stance that backs the unity, sovereignty, and stability of the state after the expulsion of the Islamic State.

Abdel Aal's speech came during his Wednesday meeting with the newly appointed Iraqi Ambassador to Egypt Ahmed Naief al-Delmy to discuss bilateral relation between the two countries especially at the parliamentary level.

Abdel Aal welcomed the Iraqi ambassador, wishing him success. He also expressed his readiness to provide all the assistance necessary for the success of his mission.

For his part, the ambassador pointed out the good relations between Egypt and Iraq as well as Egypt's historical role in the Arab region.He called for benefiting from the Egyptian experience in the reconstruction projects of Iraq.

The Iraqi ambassador handed over a massage to Abdel Aal from the Iraqi parliament speaker, inviting him to visit Iraq to discuss issues of common concern.
