CAIRO, July 3 (MENA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal stressed on Wednesday the importance of cooperation between Russia and all African countries in all fields and joint coordination between the two sides on various issues.

Addressing the inaugural session of the Russia-Africa parliamentary conference in Russia, the speaker pointed out to the importance of Egypt's presidency of the African Union in boosting ties between the two sides.

A statement issued by the House said Abdel Aal described the convocation of the conference as a unique event in the history of diplomatic relations between Russia and Africa, saying the conference precedes the Russia-African summit in October under the joint chairmanship of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the current president of the African Union and President Vladimir Putin.

He said that Egypt focuses during its presidency of AU on promoting cooperation among African states especially with the counties which have real desire to boost partnership and making use of the wealth in the two sides.

He said that Africa is rich with oil, gas, gold, uranium, diamonds, as well as farming, saying that Egypt will focus during its presidency of the African Union on economic cooperation and integration.
