RAMALLAH, June 25 (MENA) - Egypt's Ambassador to Israel Khaled Azmy on Tuesday confirmed the Egyptian vision on establishing a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

The Egyptian vision is based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions, he added during his participation in a seminar organized by the Israeli presidency on the 40th anniversary of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty.

This vision is also based on settling the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through establishing an independent Palestinian state with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital, he added.

Attending the event were the Israeli president and foreign minister along with Israeli foreign ministry officials.

Also attending were the Jordanian ambassador to Israel and other foreign ambassadors.

Azmy pointed out that the treaty is a model of building peace in the region. Through this treaty peace was reached and rights were restored, he added.
