CAIRO - 13 May 2019: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi discussed with Bahrain's King Hamad bin IssaAl Khalifain a Sunday meeting means of promoting joint Arab actionin light of the current challenges facing the Arab region, according to presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady.

Talks between the two leaders come as part of their bilateral meetings to probe ways of fostering Egyptian-Bahraini cooperation in different fields, the statement reported.

President Sisi and the Bahraini king also reviewed a number of regional files of common concern, the statement noted.

For his side, the king expressed delight for visiting Egypt, hailing the deep-rooted historic relations binding the two brotherly countries and peoples.

In August 2018, President Sisi participated in a number of events during his visit to Bahrain, according to a statement issued by the presidential spokesperson.

Sisi held talks with Bahrain's king and top Bahraini government officials about means to boost mutual ties; the talks also tackled regional issues of mutual interest.

Moreover, Sisi visited the National Museum of Bahrain, the oldest museum in the Arabian Gulf region. The museum includes a rare archaeological collection gathered from many archaeological sites in Bahrain. The museum is the culmination of the kingdom's efforts to preserve the heritage and history of the country.
