CAIRO – 5 May 2019: Before leaving to Cairo, Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly was accompanied by his Lebanese counterpart Saadal-Hariri on a tour in Beirut along with their delegations.

After their joint meeting and press conference in Beiruton Friday, Hariri said that this would be the beginning of boosting relations between the two countries.

The Lebanese prime minister invited Libyan and Egyptian investors to raise the volume of their investments in Lebanon.

During the joint press conference, Madbouly affirmed that the Egyptian- Lebanese relations will witness developments during the coming period. He added that both countries are keen on enhancing and deepening their relations on all levels.

Both officials assured that Egypt and Lebanon share similar political tribulations. Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi stressed the importance of Lebanon’s security and stability for Egypt, according to Madbouly.

He also noted that all Egyptian companies are willing to support Lebanon in different fields.

Madbouly and Hariri signed five agreements during their meetings in Beirut on Friday.
Nader Saad, the Cabinet's spokesperson, said in a statement that the signed agreements were in the fields of investment, importing Egyptian building materials, communications, and exchange of tax experiences between the two countries.
