Parliament's African committee receives Ethiopian ambassador

CAIRO – 24 March 2019: The African affairs parliamentary committee, headed by MP Tarek Radwan, received Sunday the Ethiopian ambassador to Egypt, Dina Mufti to boost bilateral relations between the two countries.

Radwan stressed the depth of historic relations between Egypt and Ethiopia, adding that several members of the parliament participated in the meeting that witnessed a noticed progress regarding the water topic.

Radwan pointed out that the relations between Ethiopia and Egypt date back to ancient ages in politics, culture and religion, as the Ethiopian church was close to the Egyptian church in Alexandria. The head of the African affairs committee added that President Abdel Fatah al Sisi and his Ethiopian counterpart Abiy Ahmed have agreed on several regional topics to enhance development in Africa.

Ethiopian ambassador, Mufti, thanked Radwan and members of the Egyptian parliament after the latter offered condolences for the victims of the recently crashed Ethiopian jet.

Mufti asserted that the water topic showed the whole world how deep is the relation between Egypt and Ethiopia, adding that the cooperation between the two countries will continue to cover other vital sectors.
