CAIRO – 1 March 2019: Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa called on world leaders to prepare an international blacklist for pro-terrorism media outlets, especially as most of them practice their activities from Turkey and Qatar.

This came during the Arab European Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh. Gomaa also called for publishing that list in local, regional and international channels, sites and media platforms to reveal the truth to all people around the world.

Gomaa added that these terrorists support terrorism and terrorist groups, adopt the terrorist ideology and incite violence and bloodshed; hence, legal and administrative procedures must be taken against them.

“These suspicious figures, sites and channels, such as Al-Sharq channel and a number of press sites, play a provocative role in spreading terrorism and harming national security from abroad through spreading lies, ” Gomaa said, adding that Motaaz Matar, Hamza Zoba and Mohamed Nasr are the most notorious of those figures.

Gomaa also stated that the Muslim Brotherhood's channels and sites that are funded by huge states and entities to sponsor terrorism commit a crime against humanity.

In the same context, official spokesman for the Ministry of Awqaf and head of the religious sector Jaber Tayea Youssef said that those involved in attacking the state, its national institutions and its symbols have no place in Awqaf Ministry because they are not fit to be preachers.

Youssef added that since July 15, 2013, the Waqaf Ministry has distinguished the difference between Islam and political Islam, adding that Islam is a religion but political Islam is the agenda of the groups that seek to reach power using religion.
