CAIRO - 6 December 2018: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received Wednesday, Dec. 5 Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safdy to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.

The two sides discussed ways of supporting development in the region, especially in Palestine, and means to achieve the interests of the Egyptian and Jordanian peoples.
In July 2017, former Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail signed with his Jordanian counterpart Hany el-Mulki seven agreements of cooperation during the Egyptian-Jordanian Higher Committee to strengthen mutual relations in all fields.

Also, in October 2018, Minister of Agriculture Ezz el-Din Abu Steit discussed with his Jordanian counterpart Ibrahim al-Shehahdeh means of facilitating trade exchange procedures with regard to agricultural products. The two sides discussed the possibility that joint cooperation would include exchanging expertise and research in the agricultural sector.

Moreover, in November 2017, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi praised the relations between Egypt and Jordan during the World Youth Forum. The president also praised the Jordanian prince's efforts to crystallize a contemporary Arab thought that serves the issues of progress, tolerance, development and intellectual openness.
