CAIRO - 17 November 2018: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement Friday Nov 16. saying that it is following up investigations into the murder of an Egyptian in Saudi Arabia.

Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Yasser Hashim said on the ministry has assigned the Egyptian consulate the kingdom to follow up the probe.

The national, identified as Ahmed Taha Hassan Mahmoud, was stabbed to death in Jizan city.

The consulate, in turn, has tasked its legal adviser to go to Jizan to get acquainted with the prosecution's investigations into the case.

The mission has also contacted the legal medicine department and the health directorate in the Saudi city to finish measures required to return the deceased's body to Egypt.
