CAIRO - 13 November 2018: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted that Egypt's presidency of the African Union (AU) in 2019 represents a golden opportunity for supporting and consolidating the Egyptian role at the African level.

The prime minister made the remarks on Tuesday during the weekly Cabinet meeting that was held earlier to discuss the underway preparations by the bodies concerned ahead of Egypt's presidency of the AU that will start in 2019.

The prime minister asserted the great interest that the political leadership attaches to the African continent, citing the recommendations and decisions issued by the World Youth Forum which was held recently in Sharm el Skeikh.

Madbouli pointed out that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ordered taking all measures needed for launching a presidential leadership program for African youth, noting that the government is currently preparing several programs and events that will push forward cooperation with the African countries.

Madbouli said that the ministers concerned were assigned with submitting proposals on these programs.

He added that the government is willing to coordinate with Egyptian businessmen to establish a number of services projects and facilities in the African countries.
