Rumors break out of a supposedly secret meeting between FJP members and Knesset members
By Nadine El Sayed
A storm was stirred today as rumors broke that members of the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, were to meet an Egyptian delegation of Freedom and Justice Party’s (FJP) parliament members in Washington. The Israeli daily newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth  had published news on a secret meeting between the two parties and later announced the meeting was cancelled due to the publicity the supposedly secret meeting has received. In response to the news, FJP parliament member Abd El Mawgoud Rageh has denied all news about the Washington visit or any meetings with Israeli parliament members. Al–Masry Al-Youm had however quoted Musa Diab, member of the Knesset, saying the Israeli delegation has not been discussed in the Knesset, an unusual procedure. He added that the trip was only cancelled because the newspaper ran the news of what was to be a secret meeting between the two parties, but that it was definitely going to take place had the news not gotten out. Knesset members also announced their opposition to the small number of delegates in the Washington visit as well as the composition of the delegation. The paper had quoted a source from the Knesset saying that the visit was organized and partially funded by the Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry but Rageh has denied all claims.
