WASHINGTON – 18 September 2018: U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday said the United Sates will set the cap on the number of refugees allowed into the country at up to 30,000 in fiscal year 2019, a sharp drop from 45,000 it announced in October.

"We proposed resettling up to 30,000 refugees under the new refugee ceiling as well as processing more than 280,000 asylum seekers," Pompeo said at the State Department.
