LISTICLE: Tahya Masr-fudned development projects in Aswan

CAIRO – 11 July 2018: Egypt’s top charity fund “Tahya Masr” (long live Egypt) financed the establishment of a number of development projects in Upper Egypt's governorate of Aswan, with a total cost of LE 23 million.

Tahya Masr (The Long Live Egypt) Fund was initially established by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in 2014 to elicit donations in support of Egypt's development projects and economy.

Egypt Today provides an omnibus list of the Tahya Masr-funded development projects and plans that are cutting through a wide range of sectors.

1- Upgrading hospitals in Edfu city with 15 new medical incubators.

2- Providing local villages with four fire trucks worth LE 8 million.

3- Developing the desert villages with a total cost of LE 16.5 million.

4- Establishing a well-fitted firefighting unit worth of LE 10 million in the under-construction city of Al-Sadaka El-Gedida.

5-Expanding and renovating water networks in some villages of the central town of Nasr El-Nubia to address the water shortage crisis at a cost of LE 3 million.

6-The construction of six residential buildings in Jabal Al-Zalat area in Kom Ombo, with a total of 144 housing units at a cost of LE 20 million.

7 - The establishment of a new dialysis center and another unit for Virus C treatment at Aswan Fever hospital at a cost LE 35 million.

8- The establishment of a three-phase sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 5000 cubic meters in Al-Twaisa area at a cost of LE 10 million, as well as building new 432 housing units that belong to the governmental youth housing projects.

9- Developing the Nasr El-Nouba youth center at a cost of LE 6 million and building 264 units in Khor Baloula area at a cost of LE 1.5 million

10- The construction of a water station in the village of Eneiba with a capacity of 5000 cubic meters at a cost of 20 million.

11- The implementation of the networks of regression and expulsion lines and lift stations for 10 villages in Nasr Nuba at a cost of LE 100 million.

In January 2017, President Sisi ordered the establishment of an authority tasked with the development of Upper Egypt, with investments of up to LE 5 billion (about $279 million), state-owned Al-Ahram reported. The authority is tasked with creating jobs and protecting Nubian monuments.

During the second monthly youth conference in Aswan, Sisi announced establishing 200 small factories in Upper Egypt governorates. He also called for finishing development projects in Aswan by the end of June 2018.
