CAIRO - 8 April 2018: Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will head to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday April 15, to attend the Arab League's 29th summit, according to Kuwait-based Al-Rai newspaper.

The paper manifested that an Arab diplomat had asserted that the Qatari emir will head his country's delegation to the Arab summit which shall start the preparatory meeting on Monday in Riyadh.

"The Arab crisis between Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain on one hand and Qatar on the other will not be on the Arab summit's agenda for discussion," said Qatari Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Lolwah al khater to Turkish Anadolu news agency on Saturday.

She noted that Arab League's Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit had sent an official invitation to Doha to take part in the Arab summit. According to the Arab League's bylaw, official invitation letters must be sent to all the Arab League's member states.

It is noteworthy that this 29th summit will be the first since the Arab boycott to the tiny Gulf state 10 months ago and the first also since the American announcement to relocate the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel, the matter which was denounced and rejected by all Arab and Muslim countries as well as most of European states.

In June, the four Arab countries, mentioned above, cut diplomatic relations with Qatar because of its support to terrorist entities and organizations across the Arab world. The Arab quartet set a 13-item list as a condition to restore the diplomatic ties with Doha, most notably the immediate halt of funding terrorism, handing over wanted-individuals living in Qatar and the closure of Doha-based Al-Jazeera network; however the Qatari regime rejected these demands.
