CAIRO – 26 November 2017: On Sunday, Egyptian MPs called on the Security Council and the international community to take immediate actions against Qatar, stating that Doha is providing substantial support to Islamic State’s (IS) terrorism in the Middle East.

“Qatar is the main financial source for IS in the Arab region while Turkey in cooperation with Iran are the commercial and military supporters for their terrorism acts. We always wonder why the international community is silent about these terroristic countries,” MP Amr Abul Yazid said.

Qatar has become “a haven for terrorism and intellectual extremism." It uses its resources and money to buy all kinds of weapons, according to Ahmed Fouad Abaza, member of Arab Affairs Committee.

Abaza added that Al-Rawda mosque terror attack was planned by Qatar and Turkey, while Iran supplied terrorists with weapons.

"The United Nations should force Qatar to hand over the fugitive terrorists and sentence them in their countries," he added.

"The international solidarity with Egypt after the terrorist attack on Al-Rawdah mosque confirms that the entire world stands against terrorism," MP Fawzi el-Sharabasy said.

Sharabasy calls on the world to turn its solidarity with Cairo into real international resolutions and actions against terrorism and its main source, Qatar.

Since June 5, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have implemented a complete boycott against Qatar over allegations of its support and sponsorship of terrorism. Doha denies the allegations.

Following the boycott, a list of 13 demands was handed over to Doha’s government by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain for reconciliation. The list includes demands such as closing the Al-Jazeera channel and the suspension of Qatar's close relationship with the extremist government of Iran.
