CAIRO - 8 November 2017: Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi said that he will submit the achievements done throughout the last four years since he had assumed the office in January 2018.

The President added during a press conference held with international and local media as part of the World Youth Forum (WYF), that he will leave the call for the Egyptian people to judge his government’s performance to decided whether he can run for a second term presidency or not.

Sisi stressed on the necessity of keeping Egypt strong, to face the upcoming tide of Islamic State (IS), during his meeting with representatives of foreign media outlets and editors of national and private newspapers on Wednesday


on the sidelines of the World Youth Forum (WYF) in Sharm El-Sheikh, The president warned against the same fate of Syria and Iraq, since terrorist groups are expected to move their attacks to Egypt after their defeat in both countries.

“Egypt should stay strong to confront any aggression from terrorist groups,” Sisi told reporters on Wednesday, asserting that Egypt has the needed military equipments to win this battle.

Sisi stressed the necessity of facing any crisis taking place in the region and may affect Egypt, adding that Egypt is capable of dealing with any potential danger may threaten its peace.

On the other hand, Sisi emphasized the Egypt’s steadfast role toward the Palestinian cause.

The president condemned media coverage regarding the latest Western Desert shootout, which resulted in the death of a number of police personnel, saying that foreign media should bid by Egypt’s official statements.

Regarding detention and purge operation against a number of Saudi officials accused of corruption in Saudi Arabia, Sisi clarified that the matter is normal and could happen in any country, noting that the internal situation in Saudi Arabia is stable now.

“We support our brothers in Gulf region,” Sisi said, adding “We call for avoiding any tension escalation may harm stability of Gulf country as their safety affect us and vice versa.”

The president tackled the economic conditions; saying that the government is working according to a very ambition development plan, affirming that the citizens will feel the improvement in their life gradually. He referred to the challenges the state faces, saying terrorism is one of the hardest obstacles, not to mention the chaos that followed 2011 revolution.

Sisi revealed that the government will inaugurate projects for livestock production and fish farming in November and December.

In reference to Italian-Egyptian relations, Sisi said that ties have been affected by the row followed the death of the student Julio Regini in Egypt. “We are dealing with this issue with complete integrity and transparency,” Sisi told journalists, asserting the necessity to maintain friendship with Italy.

Sisi denied that return of Russian tourism to Egypt is conditioned by inking the contracts of Dabaa nuclear plant, expressing his understanding to the Russian stance regarding the tourism issue. “Anyone would want to check on our safety measures,” the president added.
