PARIS - 20 October 2017: A renowned French analyst stressed the similarities between Paris and Cairo's strategic views regarding current regional crises and threats posed by terrorism and extremism.

Charles Saint-Prot was commenting on Egypt's President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi's anticipated visit to France on October 23-25.

Egypt should be backed by its allies in war against terrorism, Saint-Prot said in statements to MENA.

Egypt is a key partner for France in light of transformations witnessed by the Arab world.

The French analyst, meanwhile, highlighted the geopolitical importance of cooperation between Egypt and France.

As for the situation in Libya, Saint-Prot asserted that restoring stability in the conflict-torn Arab country is of strategic importance for Egypt, the only neighboring country that could play an effective role in this file.

On the Qatari crisis, the French politician affirmed that solution of the crisis is at the hands of Qatar due to its 'adventurous policies'.
