CAIRO – 16 September 2017: The seventh round of Astana talks for the resolution of the Syria crisis will be held in the Kazakhstan capital, Astana, in late October, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari tweeted said on Friday, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA.

Iran's top negotiator in the Astana talks held a trilateral meeting with his Russian and Turkish counterparts Alexander Lavrentiev and Sedat Ünal, prior to the general meeting and discussed the text of the

final statement

for the sixth round of ongoing talks.

Establishment of the fourth de-escalation zone in the Syrian region of Idlib is on the agenda of the sixth round of talks.

Head of Iranian delegation has also held separate meetings with his Russian, Syrian and Turkish counterparts on Thursday.

Delegations from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, Turkey, Syria along with Syrian opposition groups' representatives, UN delegation and observer countries are present in the event that is aimed at establishing peace and security in Syria.

Earlier, the plenary meeting of the Astana XI talks on Syria kicked off in Astana with the participation of the Syrian Arab Republic delegation (headed by Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari), the Russian and Iranian delegations, and others.
