CAIRO - 25 August 2017: Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar said it is inevitable to activate the aspects of cooperation at the international level to curb the dangers of terrorism that affect most of the world countries.

Abdel Ghaffar made the remarks during his meeting on Thursday with British Minister for Middle East and North Africa Affairs Alastair Burt who is on an official visit to Egypt.

During the meeting, Abdel Ghaffar reviewed the security developments in Egypt and efforts exerted to secure ports, airports and tourist destinations across the country.

He asserted the necessity of reaching political solutions in conflict-hit areas in order to rein in terrorism and extremism.

Continued pressures on terrorist organizations in the conflict zones will force extremists to flee to safe havens in other countries, which requires expanding the exchange of intelligence to avoid potential dangers of those groups, he said.

For his part, the British minister lauded the Egyptian role in achieving stability in the Middle East, especially amid the mounting threats of terrorism.
