Tiny Qatar accuses Arab quartet of ‘recreating terrorism’

CAIRO – 30 July 2017: Qatar’s ambassador to Russia accuses Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain of “re-creating terrorist regimes,” on Saturday via a Moscow radio station.

Qatar’s ambassador to Russia, Fahd bin Mohamed Al-Attiya told a radio station in Moscow that “whatever endangers peoples’ lives to achieve political goals deems terrorism regardless its ideologies.”

In response to a question on the Arab-Qatari diplomatic crisis, Al-Attiya stressed the Arab quartet’s demands are “terrorist demands” that aim at “re-creating terrorist regimes.”

He accused the four Arab nations of pretending combating terrorism in favor of political gains in cooperation with world’s major powers.

“The 70-year-old regimes in the Arab region are tyrannical regimes that generated terrorism that the world has been suffering from at the time being,” Al-Attiya claimed.

He alleged that the tiny oil-rich state is on the majority side, while “the Arab quartet are a minority” among the Arab nations’ views.

The Arab quartet’s foreign ministers will hold a summit in Manama on Sunday to discuss the latest developments about the intra-Arab crisis.
