CAIRO – 11 February 2025: An Egyptian medical delegation, consisting of 11 specialist doctors from Kasr Al-Aini Faculty of Medicine, has arrived at the Gaza European Hospital.

The delegation includes experts in bone injuries, bone tumors, pelvic fractures, bone infections, peripheral nerve disorders, plastic surgery for war injuries, and hand surgery.

To assist with the increasing medical needs, the Gaza European Hospital has decided to open a daily outpatient clinic, which will begin on Tuesday, February 11, and continue until Monday, February 17.

On 18 January 2025, Egypt has opened the registration for doctors who wish to volunteer to treat the wounded and injured as a result of the Israeli aggression inside the Gaza Strip, announced Head of the Egyptian Doctors Syndicate Osama Abdel-Hay.

He noted that more than 2,000 are ready to volunteer and enter Gaza to treat the wounded.

“This initiative is part of the effort to compile lists of the required medical specialties, in line with the humanitarian and medical responsibilities that Egyptian doctors bear in supporting their Palestinian brothers,” he said in a press statement.

Dr. Abdel-Hay received a phone call from the Palestinian Minister of Health Majed Ramadan. The Palestinian Minister of Health provided an update on the situation of Gaza's health sector.

During the call, Ramadan informed Dr. Abdel-Hay that the Palestinian Ministry would send the Egyptian Syndicate a list of urgent medical specialties required for the ongoing crisis.

The Egyptian official explained that the Syndicate is coordinating with the Egyptian Red Crescent and the government to mobilize the necessary medical teams for Gaza's health sector.

He emphasized that the health sector in Gaza requires a wide range of medical specialties, with particular priority given to anesthesia, surgery, orthopedics, and plastic surgery.

Dr. Abdel-Hay stressed that the Syndicate is closely monitoring the medical situation in Gaza and will do the best to provide essential medical assistance, despite the challenging conditions the sector is currently facing.
