CAIRO – 1 November 2022: Egypt asserted it intends to maintain efforts aimed at promoting civil, political, economic, social and cultural human rights, in parallel with boosting the status of women and protecting child rights and the rights of disabled persons and the elderly, along with youth empowerment.

That came in Egypt's statement, delivered by Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Wael Nasreddin Attia to the 73rd session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights, currently in session in the Gambian capital Banjul Monday.

Proceedings of this current round will last until November 9.

The Foreign Ministry, in a press release posted on its Facebook page, said the Egyptian official talked about tireless and painstaking efforts to implement the National Strategy for Human Rights in cooperation with civil society.

He reviewed several initiatives that were launched by the government to raise the standards of living, topped by "Decent Life" presidential initiative, in addition to the state's never-ceasing bids and endeavors to develop education, health insurance and social housing projects, added the ministry.
