Egypt’s Min. of Health launches 14 medical convoys as part of Haya Karima initiative

CAIRO - 12 April 2022: Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced launching 14 medical convoys as part of the President's initiative Haya Karima, starting from today until the 20th of the holy month of Ramadan 

The convoys were including several specialties such as Gynecologists, obstetricians, pediatricians, nose, ear, and throat doctors, or thopedic, heart, cardiologists, and dentists.

Last February, the Health Ministry announced offering free medical services and treatment for 110,702 citizens via 82 medical convoys.

In a statement, the ministry said that launching these convoys comes as part of President Abdel Fatah El Sisi’s initiative “Decent Life” initiative to present free medical services to citizens in the remote and deprived areas.

Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that 15,950 blood tests were conducted and 23,100 health seminars were held to raise the health awareness of the citizens.

Abdel Ghaffar asserted the keenness of the ministry to continue organizing medical convoys to the different Egyptian governorates along with abiding by all the preventive measures against coronavirus.

These convoys aim at facilitate receiving medical services for the elderly, children and the disabled, Head of the general administration of the medical convoys Wafaa Sadeq said.

The convoys served in Aswan, Assiut, Alexandria, Ismailia, Luxor, Red Sea, Beheira, Giza, Dakahlia, Suez, Sharqiya, Fayyoum, Cairo, Qalubiya, Menoufiya, Minya, New Valley, Beni Suef, South Sinai, Sohag, Kafr el Sheikh, Marsa Matrouh, Qena, Gharbiya and Damietta, she said.
